When Julien-L. Adrian (1888-1974) founded the ADRIAN Company in 1939, he
already had 25 years of experience in producing and marketing essential oils worldwide.
He established the company in Marseille which was the
traditional Mediterranean port for product coming from North Africa, Indian Ocean Islands and the Far
East.
His grand-son, Jose-Luis Adrian, has been developing the sales
networks and, as from 1974, has opened new
markets (USA, Latin America, Far East), large consumers of essential oils produced in the South of France and
established subsidiaries to serve these markets:
- ADRIAN ESSENTIAL OILS Ltd in London, UK, in 1959.
- ADRIAN AMERICA Inc in Rahway, NJ in 1998.
In 1998, the group also invested in the Comoro Islands and
created TROPIKAL SA, which produces essential oils of the region such as Ylang Ylang, Clove, Neroli,
Ravintsara.
In 2001, ADRIAN moved in a brand new facility located in Aix
en Provence – France and united ORGASYNTH.
And in 2003, ADRIAN has invested in a joint-venture in Ukraine
to strenghten its position at source. We are now producers of Coriander, Pine, Lavender and Clary Sage.
